Mt. Edgecumbe Bird

Mt. Edgecumbe Bird (wp0014)

Clear days in winter are uplifting. In the depths of winter, the sun rises at nine in the morning and sets around three in the afternoon. Last winter I sat at my kitchen table and played with the sunrise table on my gps unit, dreaming of the days when the sun would rise at three am and set at ten pm.

Fresh snow on the mountains is beautiful though, and makes the long winter nights quite worthwhile.
