This is why I could live in Sitka for the rest of my life. I have stood on only three of the peaks in this photo, after a year and a half of hiking almost every weekend. Some of these peaks I will never touch because they are steep, sharp, and crumbling. Some may never have been climbed yet. Most do not even have names. I love that from the tops of most of these mountains, you only see more mountains and ocean, no roads at all. It is true wilderness.
