|   |   | In the springtime I went to Portland, Maine for an Expeditionary Learning Outward Bound conference. While everyone else was asleep, I dragged myself out of bed at 4:30 in the morning to go see an east coast sunrise again. I got to the beach early, but the sky didn't do much for a while. I was happy to be at the edge of the ocean in the early morning, but I thought the sun had just gotten lost in the horizon clouds. I walked back to the car, turned for one last look at the water, and was surprised to see the first sliver of the sun above the horizon. Starting the day with a sunrise always makes for a good day. |
