I visited the World Trade Center numerous times while I lived in New York. As a physics student, I have always loved the simple architecture of the Twin Towers. Standing close to them is a dizzying yet inspiring experience, one few of us are likely to forget now. When the towers fell, I was surprised to hear how many of my students considered them their favorite buildings. I think it is their simplicity that people loved.
